1953 Playing Career Satchel Paige Single Signed OAL Harridge Baseball JSA
What makes this ball truly special is that it was signed in 1953 during Satchel Paige's brief playing career in Major League baseball. It is signed on a period 1950's Official American League Harridge baseball. After many years in the Negro League Satchel Paige finally made it to the Major League. He is considered one of the greatest pitchers of all time and was a pioneer for all negro league ball players. Most Satchel Paige balls were signed after his retirement. This may very well be the only Satchel Paige ball that can be definitively dated to his very important playing career in the Major League. We have a second one of these Paige balls listed that comes from the exact same origin and was signed simultaneously. The other is in higher grade condition and is priced accordingly. Both are historic Satchel Paige balls that were signed during his very brief Major League career.
